“Interspace — Beyond Branches” explores the negative shapes formed within an oak tree’s branches. These often ignored areas, where light and open space intersect, can remain unseen beyond the solid form of the tree. The circular motifs suggest overlapping canopies hidden from plain sight. Technically, I was interested in pushing the values further to make the painting more dynamic. I used a limited palette, but mixed the colors to create a wider range of colors.
