My handmade, hand-painted stoneware monarch butterfly pottery mugs are beautiful gifts for coffee and tea lovers. Unlike mass-produced ceramics, this mug is wheel thrown and is completely freehand hand-painted, making it 100% unique. I sketched in pencil directly onto the cup and hand-painted the vibrant underglaze layers with a brush.
Each cup is 100% handmade and wheel-thrown. I hand painted with lead-free, non-toxic glaze. A functional piece of ceramic pottery makes a beautiful gift for housewarming, Mother’s Day, birthday, Christmas, hostess, and more!
Once the clay was bone dry, I fired to bisque in my small home studio kiln. Bisque firing takes about 9 hours. Once the bisque firing is complete, the final glaze is hand painted, allowed to dry, and then fired again in the final stage (another 9+ hours).
The photo shows the actual piece you will receive. Expect slight perfect-imperfections, as each piece is 100% made by hand.

Caring for your piece:
» Dishwasher safe, however hand-washing is recommended. In order to prolong the glaze color, sheen, and overall durability, I recommend hand-washing with a mild detergent, like Dawn. Prolonged exposure to harsh detergents could eventually affect the glaze color and sheen.
» Microwave safe, but take care, as pottery can get hot.
» Do not place in oven or on stove top.
» Do not pour boiling water, as thermal shock could occur.
» The glaze is food safe, lead-free, and non-toxic.
» Ceramic pottery should be treated with care, as it can break, chip, or crack if dropped.
