My original hummingbird design is screen printed and glazed using the cuerda seca pottery technique. This handmade stoneware ceramic tile can be used as a trivet, spoon rest, or display on an easel. Once the clay is bone dry, I fire to bisque in my small home studio kiln. Bisque firing takes about 13 hours. Once the bisque firing is complete, the final glaze is hand painted, allowed to dry, and then fired again in the final stage (another 6-7 hours).

Caring for your piece:
» Hand-washing recommended, with a mild detergent, like Dawn. Not dishwasher safe, due to the cork backer.
» Do not microwave, due to the cork backer.
» Do not place in oven or on hot stove top.
» The glaze is food safe, lead-free, and non-toxic.
» Ceramic pottery should be treated with care, as it can break, chip, or crack if dropped.
