My original hummingbird design is imprinted into stoneware clay on this handmade, slab built, stoneware dish. This piece is hand painted with real white gold lustre glaze around the rim. Once the clay is bone dry, I fire to bisque in my small home studio kiln. Bisque firing takes about 8+ hours. Once the bisque firing is complete, the final glaze is hand painted, allowed to dry, and then fired again in the final stage (another 8+ hours). Finally, the real white gold lustre is hand painted, allowed to dry for several hours, and is then fired for the third time. The final metallic glaze fire takes about 5+ hours.

Caring for your piece:
» *Not dishwasher safe, hand-washing is recommended. In order to prolong the glaze sheen and overall durability, I recommend hand-washing with a mild detergent, like Dawn.
» *Not microwave safe, due to the real metallics in the luster.
» Do not place in oven or on stove top.
» Do not pour boiling water, as thermal shock could occur.
» The glaze is food safe, lead-free, and non-toxic.
» Ceramic pottery should be treated with care, as it can break, chip, or crack if dropped.
